School

I can not believe it is almost October. This past month has flown by so quickly. I have officially survived my first month of teaching! The first week was kind of crazy getting used to everything and everyone. Everyday gets a little easier. I love teaching kindergarten! Right now I have 16 students. They are all really fun and have lot of energy. Every day they become more familiar with the routines which helps with their behavior. My school is 25 miles away from Havre in the mountains on an Indian Reservation. The drive is not too bad because I take a free shuttle to the school everyday with other teachers from my school. It still feels strange to tell people that I am an elementary school teacher. I am loving my teaching schedule. I love having nights and weekends off, something I never had at my old job.

Here are some of the before and after pictures of my classroom. My room is extremely small, so it was a bit difficult to get everything to fit. I did have some awesome friends who helped me set up my classroom the weekend before school started. One of my best friends from Utah flew up for the weekend to help me. She was such a lifesaver and spent hours of her trip in my room with me. The last picture is the view from my classroom window. Hopefully one of these days I will remember to take a picture of my students.
