Baby Barker

Yes, you did read that correctly! We are so excited to announce that we are EXPECTING!!! I am due August 11th, which just happens to be the day after our 4th Anniversary. I am just shy of 12 weeks. It has been hard waiting to tell our friends and coworkers. Although, Tysen was spilling the beans to everyone. We did tell our families on Chirstmas while we were in Cancun. We emailed them a picture slide show with a few pictures from our trip, then we put in a slide that said we almost forget our favorite picture. It was a picture of the sand with the words "Baby on Board".  It was fun calling our family after and hearing the reactions. They are just as excited as we are. On my side of the family this will be the first niece or nephew, first grandchild and first great grandchild.  We are so thrilled with our exciting news and could not be happier. I had my first appointment back in December and got to do an ultra sound and see the baby. Which was pretty cool although the baby just looked like a blob. I went back last week and got to hear the heartbeat. Which was the coolest thing ever! They beat so fast! Tysen says it is a boy (go figure) :-) I guess time will tell, I think we get to find out the sex of the baby in March. So far I have been extremely lucky and haven't really been sick at all (knock on wood). I have felt a little queasy a couple of times but it goes away after a couple of seconds. I have been extremely tired but that could also be the combined effects of pregnancy and being a kindergarten teacher. I also am always hungry!! I will take those side effects over being nauseous any day. My mom said she never got sick with any of her pregnancies so I am hoping she passed down some awesome no morning sickness genes :-) At least that is what I am hoping for. I never thought I would post growing belly pictures, but our family and friends back home have talked me into it. I refuse to post any on facebook so I will post them on the side bar of my blog instead. Not sure how often I will update them though.

On a side note, we did go to Cancun for Christmas and had a blast!! I will post pictures soon from that vacation.
