On Saturday
Tysen and I wanted to take advantage of my Saturday off from work so we decided to go on a hike at 7 in the morning. The hike
Tysen chose of course was the tallest mountain in the Bears Paw Mountains with an elevation of 6919 feet and of course did not have a trail.
Tysen had been telling me about this hike and how much he wanted to hike it all summer long so I said okay and we were off . Now I have done my fair share of hiking but none of it prepared me for Saturday's hike.
Meet....
Mt. Baldy
It doesn't look like much but this mountain was the
hardest hike. There were no trails so we were climbing up and over and around broken trees, going through pine trees and bushes full of
pokey stabbies. That part of the hike seemed pretty bad until we got to this point in our hike....
The giant wall of rocks!
This is how far we had climbed...

This is how much
more we had to climb!

Don't let
Tysen's smile fool you, we were
NOT so happy at this point :)
Finally, the top of the mountain!!!

We parked at the ski hill, which I finally got to see after living in
Havre in for 2 years... here it is:

Our hike was only 3 miles long but I think a 20-miler on an actual trail would have been easier.
I can't imagine we will return to the top of Mt Baldy anytime soon.

Good for you! Tyler randomly decided he was going to go hiking a couple weeks ago while I was at work without telling anyone. I'm glad he made it back alive! I also like the term "pokey stabbies" :-) Love you guys!
