Christmas

We had an amazing Christmas this year. We were able to go to Salt Lake, something that we have not been able to do since we have been married. It was pretty crazy running all over the valley, but we had lots of fun seeing all of our family and introducing them to Averie.

My uncle Mikey has 6 chickens that he raises in his backyard in West Jordan. Super random, but kind of fun. He was so excited to show Averie. Surprising she liked them and was reaching out to pet them on her own.

The last night we were in town we went to see the Zoo Lights at the Hogle Zoo. We had to bundle Averie up, she had on a beanie, snowsuit, 3 blankets and 2 layers of clothes. It was was freezing cold! The only downfall (besides the cold) was the lack of animals that were out. We still had fun anyways, and we also got to see 3 tigers!

Averie also turns 5 months old tomorrow! She is getting super active. She has mastered rolling over from her back to belly in 2 seconds flat. She also is trying to crawl. I say trying because she gets up on her hands and knees but is not strong enough to go anywhere. She does try as hard as she can though. I would prefer her not to crawl, not sure I am ready for her to be mobile just yet.

2011 was an amazing year and will be very hard to top with the birth of little miss Aves. Can't wait to see what the year 2012 has in store for this Barker family.
